Happy
holidays! I love this time of year but admit it can get a little
hectic--cooking food for gatherings, finding everyone the right present,
helping small children learn lines for performances. I hope that
you'll remember to take a few minutes from your busy holiday season and
pamper yourself, even if it's just with a mug of marshmallow-topped hot
chocolate and a good book!
While I,
naturally, think that my Mistletoe series
makes for nice reading material (and thankfully, the reviewers agree!) there
are lots of other great books out there, too. At this time of year, I
often pull out my battered copy of Debra Dixon's Doc Holiday to
re-read (prepare to get choked up) or Heather MacAllister's slightly more
recent and entirely hilarious Lone Star Santa (published a few years
ago by Harlequin American Romance). Having just finished Holly Jacobs'
wonderfully heartwarming Unexpected Gifts (still in some stores and
available through Amazon), I am looking forward to reading her December
book: Everything But A Christmas Eve.
And don't
forget, kids need stories too! Books make excellent presents
and they also provide lovely mom-and-child bonding time amidst the flashier
activities of the season. My daughter highly recommends the picture
books Merry Christmas, Splat! and Who Will Guide my Sleigh
Tonight? while her second grade brother is fond of the classic chapter
book The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
Best wishes
throughout the season and for a bright New Year,
Tanya
